Initiating an Auto, Boat, or RV Insurance Claim:

  1. If within normal business hours, call the Greenspoint offices immediately to report the event and the damage. You can also call and leave a message outside of normal hours.
  2. Your agent will:
    • Verify your coverages and deductibles
    • Instruct you on the repair process

Single-Vehicle Accident

  1. After the accident, stop your vehicle. If possible, move it to a safe location where it won’t impede traffic or endanger others.
  2. Are you or any of your passengers injured? If so, call for medical assistance.
  3. Call the Greenspoint offices as soon as possible to report the accident. Your agent will:
    • Verify your coverages and deductibles
    • Provide recommendations for repair estimates

Vehicle Accident Involving Two or More Vehicles

  1. After the accident, stop your vehicle. If possible, move it to a safe location where it won’t impede traffic or endanger others.
  2. DO NOT leave the accident scene.
  3. Are you or any of your passengers injured? If so, call for medical assistance.
  4. Exchange information with the other driver(s), including:
    • Names
    • Addresses
    • Phone numbers
    • Vehicle make and model
    • Vehicle ownership information
    • Insurance information
    • Damage descriptions
  5. You should also obtain contact information from any witnesses to the accident:

  6. Call the police.
  7. Cooperate fully with on-scene first responders and officers.
  8. Do not admit fault—to anyone. Immediately after the accident, you lack the necessary details and facts to make an informed statement about fault. You might also be unduly influenced by the trauma.
  9. If your vehicle requires a tow, request that it be transported to your repair shop of choice.
